Blue screen possibly caused by Lenovo PM driver

I have a first generation X1CT running Windows 8.1 which started crashing within the past few weeks. I've analyzed the crash dump with windbg, but it just says the driver at fault is NETIO.SYS. I'm under the impression that this could be a false positive and that another driver actually caused the crash.

It's possible that the problem started after installing "Lenovo PM device" from Windows Update. Screenshot below.
  1. Is this a known problem?
  2. How can I verify that ibmpmdrv.sys is actually at fault?

Roll back the driver update and see if the crashes still happen.

It turned out to be caused by an old Cisco VPN client I had installed. The Lenovo PM driver was not to blame.
