X1 Carbon (2nd Generation) PWM question

#1 Post by alecs » Fri Mar 03, 2017 9:31 pm

Hi All,

Have been following the thinkpad forums for a few years and have greatly appreciated the information so freely shared.

I've just purchased a reconditioned X1 Carbon 2nd generation. Is there any sure way of telling whether or not PWM is active on the display?

The hwinfo.com tool reports display->monitor as Lenovo 40A4/ LP40QH1-SPA2 .

Thanks for any help anyone might be able to provide.

Alec

hello alec..
welcome to the active part of the forum..

i have both a gen 2 and a gen 3 X1 carbon.. i like the gen 3 for the real mouse buttons and Fn keys..
both are touch and max resolution..
i've not noticed any flicker on either one of these..
i did see this video on youtube relating to an intel utility used to modify the PWM on another thinkpad model..
it might help you.. or not.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ycKzTDnTYTQ

err.. are you really in new york..? your IP shows germany.. :)
