ThinkPad X1 Carbon 1st gen wont turn on
Hi to all,
I have X1C 1st gen that would not turn on. I have only green LED next to charging port and nothing else. No LED light on power switch, no fan spin...nothing.
Tried different adapter, reset from bottom, disconnect battery, disconnect bios battery...nothing again. Any help!!!
Regards

There is always a chance doing the secret thinkpad button combo. Press the power for 30 seconds, then tap it 10 times. Also, try tapping the caps lock key, had success with that too I just don't remember the exact situation except the screen wouldn't turn on.

There is a spot on on the mobo that acts as the power button, im not sure where, the hmm might have it. Not sure if mobo issue or keyboard issue. Just find the poont and short it with a screw driver.

Think OP already said that he had already tried "reset from the bottom", which I believe is done by pushing a sharp pin through the hole at the bottom of the laptop when turned upside down.

If OP had already done that, perhaps it is time to submit your laptop for professional repairs...Thinkpad4by3 wrote: ↑Wed May 31, 2017 5:26 pmThere is a spot on on the mobo that acts as the power button, im not sure where, the hmm might have it. Is that how you got it?
Or was it working before and you changed something?

Give him a T42 and say his X1 gained a few lbs. Whoever it won't be back with horrendous problems! I think your only option is to call the mobo dead and done.
