ThinkPad X1 Carbon (5th GEN) i5 7200U vs i7 7500U which to buy?

Hello guys,
I'm thinking to buy the new Carbon X1 (5th gen), but i wonder with which processor to buy it? Which of those two (i5 7200U or i7 7500U) will have less power consumption and with which of those i will have longer battery life?

2. Sometimes i'm using the Photoshop CS6, so which processor is better for my purposes? Will use the laptop only for internet browsing and time to time some softwares like Photoshop.

3. Is it the RAM memory a factor for the energy consumption?

Thank you in advance!

There were recent similar discussions here:

1. X1 Carbon (5th gen, 2017) : 8gb Ram or 16gb Ram , i5 or i7

2. In the Market for a X1C

Whilst we don't have a X1 Carbon (5th Gen=X1C5), we two units of X1 Carbon (3rd Gen=X1C3) with i5 and i7 for direct comparison, both 8 GB RAM.
We also have one unit of X1 Carbon 4th Gen=X1C4) with i7 + 16 GB RAM.

A) Battery Life on X1 Carbon i5 vs i7.
From our hands-on experience, we did not notice any significant difference between our i5 vs i7 CPU battery life.

B) Battery Life on X1C3 (8 GB RAM) vs X1C4 (16 GB RAM).
From our hands-on experience, we did not notice any significant difference between our 8 GB RAM vs 16 GB RAM battery life during usage.

Personally, if budget allows, we would recommend i7 + 16 GB RAM config.
~i7 for hyperthreading for your Photoshop work
~16 GB RAM for Photoshop with large image files (especially batch jobs), especially if you plan to use/run any other program during Photoshop conversions which may easily use up all 8GB of RAM, hence 16 GB RAM suggested!

Have fun choosing ;)

1. Oh, one more thing, do get the 65W AC Adapter (USB Type C).
ie: DO NOT get the 45W AC Adapter; the savings are minimal and it would greatly increase your notebook charging time.

2. If and when you do get your hands on a shiny new X1 Carbon (5th Gen),
we would appreciate your hands-on feedback after a few weeks of actual use ;)

Just in case you have not pulled the trigger for X1C5 yet, please see related posting here:
http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?f=62&t=123465

ie: the 2560x1440 (WQHD) non-touch LCD had just been made available in some markets for X1C5 (5th Gen, circa 2017) !

> 14.0" WQHD (2560x1440) IPS Anti-Glare Non-Touch

(A higher resolution screen may aid you in your Photoshop work, should you wish to do this on your 14" LCD screen).

I recently placed an order for a X1C 5th gen. Got the upgraded display and i7 processor , but only picked 8gb RAm. Let's see how that plays out for my style of work.
