Did I break my scroll button?

#1 Post by Jmorgans » Sat Nov 25, 2017 9:31 pm

Was trying to clean it and It popped off. Doesn’t look broken to me but I can’t get it to stay on :(

It lost tiny pegs off the narrow end that serve as the pivot and to hold it down.

Depending on your model, you either need a new keyboard or touchpad or keyboard bezel (whichever one comes with mouse buttons attached).

Thanks for the replies. It’s the first gen. From what I’ve seen I could replace the keyboard but it’s labor intensive. The bezel with keyboard is more costly but easier. What about just replacing the button? I could even buy the keyboard and just use the button from it (assuming I can remove it without breaking it again!)
