X1C gen 3 Trackpoint button issue

#1 Post by thinkpadian » Wed Dec 20, 2017 11:59 am

Hi,

I would be extremely grateful for any advice anyone can offer. The left Trackpoint button has stopped functioning reliably due, I think, to a piece of dust/crud stuck underneath it. I have used compressed air to blow under it and it didn't work. So, what would you recommend I do? I have already had the keyboard replaced due to a broken shift key (why, oh why, did they make them non-user-replaceable?), and that in turn caused a secondary problem with the lid detection, leading to a second call out. This all seems such an absurd waste of resources for a broken key, so I was hoping there was another way around this.

Thanks for reading,

Ian
