X1 Carbon 1st Gen Screen
X1 Carbon 1st Gen Screen
Hi,
I have an X1 Carbon 1st gen that needs a new screen.
The LG LP140WD2-TLE2 that's in it is a nice screen, but £95 seems a bit steep to replace it like-for-like.
Found a LG LP140WD2-TLHA on ebay at a good price but would need the mounting tabs removed and an LVDS cable extender to work.
Anyone got any experience of changing the X1C1 screen with an alternative ?.
Looking for HD+, non-touch.
Thanks.

Re: X1 Carbon 1st Gen Screen
Thanks for the reply Tasurinchi, but not looking to go the FHD route. Just want to replace it with another HD+ panel.
Seems most of the more current panels have the connector on the right hand side, but found this http://www.apacnotebooks.com.au/product ... -REV%3AA01 which looks almost identical to the current cable, save for being longer. Unfortunately I can't find any info on whether it supports HD+ or is just for HD. Current cable part number is 50.4RQ12.001

Re: X1 Carbon 1st Gen Screen
You could also check some overseas eBay sellers, you may get better prices there but the shipping will take longer.

Re: X1 Carbon 1st Gen Screen
Thanks for the replies.
RealBlackStuff thanks for the link, but it seems to be for a screen that is described as HD, HD+, FHD, and made by LG, AUO and Innolux....all at the same time !?.
Besides that it's 30 pin eDP and I need 40 pin LVDS.
Tasurinchi, I've found the same cable at various overseas sellers as you suggested, but none of them specify whether it's for HD or HD+. I presume the difference
is one channel (for HD) vs two channel for HD+ ?.

Re: X1 Carbon 1st Gen Screen
Apologies, I never opened the lid of mine.
I'd be happy to sell you my perfectly working X1C1 (3443-CTO, i5-3337U, 8GB RAM, 180GB SSD), but my price plus shipping will be a wee bit more than £95.

Re: X1 Carbon 1st Gen Screen
Sorry, I forgot to specify that you should look for the original panel, not the cable...
Sorry for that...
