I am not sure what has happened, but the past few weeks my laptop has been overheating and turning on the fan constantly. Watching youtube in full screen with no apps open causes the fan to trigger. I see it most prominently when the laptop is plugged in, but it happens even when running on battery power.
I already tried the fix posted here but this has had no impact. I think it may have made it worse to be honest.
Before I send it in for repair, is there anything else I can try?

Re: X1C 6th Gen - Fan Issue
It sounds like you have a good deal of analysis you can do before deciding to send / not send for repair.
1. How high do the CPU temperatures get?
2. What is the CPU usage during these heat/noise peaks, and which processes consume the most CPU during this time?

2a. Run Process Explorer to check what's messing you up.
3. Check the thermal paste between CPU and fan
