X1 Extreme 2nd Gen Only runs with no batteries or cmos battery

#1 Post by stinkitup » Tue Jan 12, 2021 12:09 am

Hi New here and not sure if someone can help or experience this before it seems similar to others but not the same.

My X1 extreme 2nd gen after Christmas would not turn on. I am ex IT trained and what not so pulled the cover tried the reset buttons and things on the web.

It pretty much only runs with the CMOS and main Battery Disconnected. Sometimes it runs with CMOS connected but not always so left it disconnected. Was thinking just a new Battery but the cmos thing has me stumped.

I would have thought if it was the Mother board it would be just dead. Of course I am about 3 months out of warranty.

Noted also when the batteries are all plugged in when you plug in the power adapter the power button blinks 3 times like yep you connected but no orange light next to the adapter.

Anyhelp would be appreciated.

Ryan
