X1 Nano's with WWAN or WWAN-READY
Does anyone know where i can find the webpage or PDF with the complete listing of X1 Nano PN's that have WWAN or are WWAN-READY?
Previous version of PSREF guides listed the PNs, but the one I found for 2021 does not include this listing. https://psref.lenovo.com/syspool/Sys/i_pdf/ThinkPad.pdf

Re: X1 Nano's with WWAN or WWAN-READY
It depends on your region where you purchase your X1 Nano whether or not it would have an option for WWAN (mobile broadband) modem.
If your region does not offer it, you're out of luck.
I believe that ThinkPad models are sold as either "including WWAN", or "not including WWAN".
"Not including WWAN" = no WWAN antennae, meaning that you cannot add WWAN aftermarket.
And ThinkPad never sells its models as "WWAN-ready".
(ie; ThinkPad never sell any model with no WWAN modem, but with WWAN antennae. Never.)

In our years of procuring ThinkPads with WWAN modems in our region, we DID encounter this:
Our ThinkPad regional website sometimes only sell ThinkPad models with *no* WWAN modem as the WWAN modem is out of stock.
But when WWAN modem is in stock again, then ThinkPad would let you to customise your ThinkPad purchase with WWAN modem option.
In this case, it is best to contact ThinkPad service to see if ThinkPad is really out of WWAN modem parts, or your region would never sell the WWAN modem option.

Re: X1 Nano's with WWAN or WWAN-READY
Not true. Many ThinkPads have been sold "WWAN ready" in the past and some are still available as WWAN ready.
However, the X1 Nano is not - either it has WWAN, or it lacks the antennas and SIM slot.

Re: X1 Nano's with WWAN or WWAN-READY
OK, then you will have to phone up your ThinkPad regional sales office to clarify this...
We have phoned ThinkPad sales office in our region for our X230, we were told that "if you did not buy your WWAN modem with your ThinkPad, then you cannot add it in".
[Edit]In all these years, our ThinkPad region has never advertised anything about WWAN ready.[/Edit]

Re: X1 Nano's with WWAN or WWAN-READY
I would be curious to know as well if it can be upgraded later on. I am interested in the nano but undecided if I want to get the wwan. I can buy the 2k screen right now but the WWAN versions wont be available until later according to Lenovo.

Notebookcheck.net is from Germany, and their ThinkPad region indicated:
www.notebookcheck.net/Lenovo-ThinkPad-X ... 858.0.html
"You can order the notebook with a WWAN module, but you cannot upgrade it later (antennas and SIM slot are not installed). Our test unit uses an LTE module from Fibocom (Cat.9), which worked perfectly with our Nano-SIM from T-Mobile. Lenovo also offers a 5G WWAN module from Qualcomm (Snapdragon X55)."
(Note: Underlining and Italics are done by this author to highlight the pertinent details.)
