X1G6: USB-C/TB3 ports also for data or only for power?

#1 Post by dandreye » Wed Jul 28, 2021 1:27 pm

Hi All,

Can I use at least one of the USB-C/Thunderbolt3 ports of my ThinkPad X1 Gen6 tagged #3 here for data?

My employer is introducing Yubikey for security and I'm choosing between a USB-A one and a USB-C one. It'd be great not to occupy either of the USB-A ports unless I have to. Can't think of any data device with USB-C plug in my household that I could use to verify those ports.

Many thanks in advance!

Yes. You can use it for data. they are Thunderbolt 3 ports. They are high speed data transfer rate including 4K 60hz display output.
