X1EGen5 help!

#1 Post by lord jim » Sun Sep 04, 2022 9:59 am

Hi Gents.
I'm moving from T430 and T460 to my last ThinkPad (I'm 71) and looking for advice
There is some reviews but conflicting when battery life is concerned
1) I need WWAN so GP 3050
2) CPU 12700 or 12800 - wonder how much throttling will 12800 do and how much will decrease battery life? so it is worth to go with 12800
3) screen 2560x1600 or 1920x1200 I would preferer 2560x1600 but if battery is significantly decreased I rather 1920x1200. another question can refresh rate be scaled down say to ~60HZ
Lenovo claims over 10hrs (configuration 2), well if I'll get ~6 hrs. on battery with around 200nits setting, possible 60Hz refresh, 32RAM rather moderate load say zoom, skype, light excel, word, browsing, streaming, on WWAN etc. I'm sold.
I do appreciate advice, thanks in advance
The Last of the Mohicans (i.e. IBM ) T43 2668-72U going to T43+0 . . . gone:
