Detailed X1 Gen6 specs by machine type
Detailed X1 Gen6 specs by machine type
Hi All,
Our MTM here doesn't seem to be aware of machine type 20KHS0800 I've just tried checking, and in fact even entire 20KH series as it's expecting old style machine types with the first 4 characters digital:
https://tp.krelay.de/index.php
Interestingly 20KHS0800 doesn't seem to be there even on the official product specs reference:
https://psref.lenovo.com/Product/ThinkP ... on_6th_Gen
Is there perhaps a complete database that'd let me look up 20KHS0800 and ideally any other Gen6 machine type specs ever released?
Thanks in advance!

7-char. MTMs are only available until and including xx30 Series.
From then on they use a different 10-char. numbering system.
AFAIK these are only "searchable" via PSREF listings/webpages, and even there only fairly limited.
Maybe only Lenovo employees have access to such a database.

Re: Detailed X1 Gen6 specs by machine type
20KHS0800 is a special model, which is apparent because it lacks the usual country-code at the end of the MTM
It seems to be some sort of Custom Model, because when submitted to pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/ it doesn't give you any specs, as it normally does. You probably need the serial number and use the parts lookup to get the specs: https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/parts-lookup

Re: Detailed X1 Gen6 specs by machine type
It may be a typo. The only result coming up looking for 20KHS0800 is an eBay UK listing for a machine whose actual model type is 20KHS0G800 (look at the photos).

Re: Detailed X1 Gen6 specs by machine type
For newer systems you'd have to put in the MTM and then the serial number from Lenovo's "Parts lookup" to see what parts are actually in the machine.
Filter by how the machine was specified, or "as built' iirc and you'll get your specs.
Well, sort of, you might have to then click and see what these parts are.
There isn't a simple drop down menu to see the specs all at once, you'll have to click each part and then maybe search that FRU/CRU.
Maybe I'm doing this the wrong way.
From parts/thinkpad searching on ebay, I've found quite a bit of newer ThinkPads don't have specs listed in the PSREF.
I have to use the parts lookup to verify little things, like CPU/GPU/LCD and then go from there.
Nabbed a 4K P50 for about $145, seller didnt know it was 4K...
wish Lenovo bios was more spec friendly like the Dell bios.

Re: Detailed X1 Gen6 specs by machine type
Thanks for all your replies. It's actually not the parts lookup that I need it for at the moment: just looking for a way to quickly know everything about a machine listed on Ebay, as mistakes in the adverts do happen. I'd love it if sellers always mentioned the S/N in their adverts but they typically mention machine type alone if at all. Once I buy a machine I'll surely use the S/N-based parts lookup if I ever need to swap anything, or just open it up to be 100% sure.
