Projecting using the mini displayport ?

Hi All
Got a couple of exec's using ThinkPad X1's and all of our meeting rooms have got projectors with VGA leads up to the desk. So I've bought them a mini displayport to VGA adaptor, in hope they can hook this up and use the proejctors.
Anyway I cant get it to work, using FN + F7 and hitting the projector does nothing... am i missing something? Is the port enabled by default?

Did you solve this connection problem betweem mini displayport to projector?
I have met this same trouble now. I bought mini displayport to VGA adapter from MAC store. and try to connect both of LED monitor and beam projector.
LED monitor was worked as well. but, this adpator doesn't work with projector. TT
If you solve it already. please share that information...

One funny talk... (terrible to me TT)
Lenovo sell Thinkpad X1 without this adaptor. so, I asked Lenovo Korea office how to get it. they mentioned they are not planning to sell it directly on Korea. Hmm~.. Not make sense...
If I want, they mentioned to order Lenovo HQ this adapator, wait 2 more weeks and price is almost 90 US dollars. They were not mentioned this is standard spec. as mini displayport 1.1a.

Hi - yes I got it working!
The APPLE minidisplay port adaptor doesnt work on the X1, this is exactly what I purchased - but missed the important part which says "only compatible with apple products" ... silly me. (shown here http://store.apple.com/uk/product/MB572Z/A)

So I purchased a startech adaptor and it works perfectly !

This startech adaptor is available in UK for about £16, so it is not expensive. If you cannot get this in korea let me know, I can assist you to get one (maybe sell to you from ebay?)

Anyway, I found startech goods on ebay and amazon.
but, not available to deliver into Korea.
