Apps Re-install? Thinkpad 1838-22U

#1 Post by whooosh.s8 » Mon Jan 21, 2013 12:24 pm

Hello All,

New to the forum, searched but didn't find a like post. Somehow my MyScript Notes Mobile app is corrupted and I need to re-install it. I use this extensively to take notes in meetings, so can't live long without it. I called support, but I'm just out of warranty and they want to charge me $575.00 to tell me how to re-install, or download a new .cab file to do so (really Lenovo??). Is there some way that it's already on my device (1838-22U) and I can just re-install it?

TIA,

p.s. I'd even purchase on the web/app store if I could, but this is an OEM bundle only it seems.....

My sense is that it's a complete reinstall to get it back. I haven't done one of our ThinkPad Androids yet, but did it on my son's Dell Streak 7. Pain in the "Southerly" area, but it restored everything. Then I had to find where Dell had stashed the Honeycomb upgrade, which I'm thinking is what you'll have to do to put ICS back on as well.

Wish I knew more. Good luck. I think Lenovo is in a similar situation as Dell on this, where they aren't really supporting that device any more since they've decided to go Win8 Tablet.

It is an .APK file, just like any other Android application.

Your first stop for anything Android related should be xda-developers.com
