Thinkpad 8, 10 or miix tablet
I have very little knowledge about this but my wife needs one and she needs the non android ones as her's needs to go on a domain.
Which one do you recommend? Is 8" at 1920 x 1200 too small? Also she probably needs a wacom stylus and not one of those fat tipped stylus.

Check out the Surface Pro before you decide (hopefully without W10)

You need Windows Pro edition then. Unlike Miix tablets, like many other consumer Windows 8" and 10" tablets, have the Bing edition that is equivalent to Home only. Windows Home and Bing editions can not join to a Windows domain.jedisurfer1 wrote:I have very little knowledge about this but my wife needs one and she needs the non android ones as her's needs to go on a domain.
For me it is perfect I can finally use text anti-aliasing on that pixel density while I can't stand 8" 1280x800 because I can see individual pixels Both ThinkPad 8 and 10 are discontinued and no longer available (at least over here in EU). I strongly don't recommend Windows 10 (yet) on small 8" to 10" tablets because the tablet mode is horrible compared to Windows 8.1 one. It is rather "Surface mode". If you are ok with bigger than 10" device the Surface Pro is definitely worth to look. It also have configuration with Windows Pro edition you need.jedisurfer1 wrote:Is 8" at 1920 x 1200 too small?
There is ThinkPad 10 2nd Gen tablet in PSREF that is supposed to be available from 07/15 but I haven't seen it yet anywhere. There are no reviews yet. It comes with Windows Pro. Currently it seems as Lenovo has discontinued consumer oriented Windows 8" and 10" tablets at all since there is no Windows 10 free edition (similar to Windows 8.1 with Bing) for OEMs anymore.
Lenovo has announced Miix 700 tablet at IFA 2015 that's basically a Surface clone.

Re: Thinkpad 8, 10 or miix tablet
Thanks for the help, I thought the surface pro 3 was more expensive than I'm willing to spend on something she won't get reimbursed for. Just checked ebay prices and they are a lot cheaper than I originally guessed.
I'm looking at those tablets as I see them for very cheap on the secondary market. $100 for a PC tablet with OS is pretty hard to beat.
