Driver to let my X201T with W8RP automatically rotate?

#1 Post by barrywohl » Sun Jun 10, 2012 7:18 am

After 10 days of configuring from scratch, I think I have just about everything working properly on my 2 year old X201T tablet with touch screen. I've installed a couple of Lenovo drivers for on screen display and hot keys.

I'm running Windows 8 Release Preview x64 on an i7 tablet with a 320 gb hard drive (not SSD) and 8 gb of ram.

I can rotate the screen manually with the tablet button, but I can't get the screen to rotate when I put the laptop into tablet/slate mode and turn the orientation.

Does anyone know where the Windows 8 settings are or where the Lenovo Windows 7 drivers are to make this happen?

I really like Windows 8 and the latest release runs more of my applications than Consumer Preview. I'm planning on updating to an X230T this fall, probably after Office 15 is released.

Update. I tried to install Lenovo Active Protection System (Air Bag) for Windows 7 x64 version 1.76.900.200. That won't run on Windows 8 Release Preview x64.

Installing Tablet Shortcut Menu worked.
I found the driver on the Lenovo 0831 download site under keyboard and mouse software.
It took a while to find the check box to enable auto-rotate, but I found it and now it works great.
Thank you.
