Win8 RTM Multimonitor crashes on W510

I've just downloaded and installed Windows 8 RTM from MSDN. I'm having serious problems with Multimonitor support. I usually use my W510 docked, with the lid closed, connected to 2 monitors via the dock. This works fine with Win7 but with Win8 plugging in the second monitor causes Windows to crash. I've got an Nvidia FX Quadro FX 880M connected to a 27" 2560x1440 Displayport monitor and a 22" 1900x1080 DVI monitor. It can connect to one or the other but not both.

I've tried it with the drivers that Win8 installed and the NVDIA Win8 drivers from the website (Lenovo haven't provided any Win8 drivers for my setup). Has anyone got any ideas why this might be happening or what I can do to fix it?

there are 4 beta video driver packages at the link above (2 for 32bit, 2 for 64bit) listing the w510. they were posted in the last week. maybe one of these will help you out until lenovo releases "gold" drivers, at or after win8 ga.
