Windows key + dot to split screen not working on X61

I am experimenting with Win8 on my X61s.
The Windows key + . (dot) to move the screen split to the right does not work.
Using notepad I did ensure the dot key creates a dot.

Is there a fix for this or a different way to split the screen?

Maybe this is by Win8 design because of the X61's low 1024 resolution.
