Thinkpad X200 (non tablet) graphics curruption windows 8

#1 Post by BobX200 » Thu Nov 29, 2012 12:07 pm

Hi everyone,

New here.

Just upgraded my X31 to an X200 and am very happy.

First thing I did was to fit an SSD and install Windows 8

Everything seems to just work, although I did have problems with graphics corrupting after a few minutes of use. Just want to share how I solved that in case it helps anyone.

I found an article describing the problem in windows 7. I believe it's the same problem. It's caused by having asynchronous RAM modules. (I have a 1GB and a 2GB)

Turning off virtualisation in the bios has 99% fixed. There is still a very occasional hint of corruption. I intend fitting 8GB RAM. When I've done that I'll post back and let you know if the problem has gone completely.
