T420 DVDRW Powered Off

Hi,

I have successfully installed the Windows 8 Enterprise trial on my T420 4236QS0 last two days.

I have installed ALL Windows 8 device drivers and software I could find in the Lenovo Drivers & Support website.

Now I got this issue with my DVDRW Drive (HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GT50N), it kept on under Powered Off mode. I tried many times to "Power On" it but still in vain.

I even tried the following methods as described in the forum still cannot!

The DVD drive does not function after you install Windows 7

Anyone encoutered such problem and able to resolve it?

Very nice of you to solve the problem!!!
I do realize its an very old topic but the solution could off help me as I am currently struggling to solve the same issue on my T420.
