Win8 Thinkpad X200s battery life

#1 Post by Monocat » Thu Jan 10, 2013 7:26 am

Hi all,

anybody notices shorter battery life in Windows 8 compared to Windows 7?

on my x200s, the battery life is averagind 4,5 hours of normal use, in Windows 7 it was definitelly much higher.

Are the drivers to blame?

Yes, I am only getting under 4.5 hours battery life on my X220 (only a few weeks old) with Windows 8.

I cannot remember exactly how much I was getting with Windows 7, but I think it was well above 6 hours.

I installed Windows 8 Pro fresh and I'm using the Win7 versions of Power Manager (but the Win8 power drivers from System update), Access Connections, Communications Utility and Hotkey drivers.
