Here's an interesting question - I have a client with several Lenovo Twists, and some of them are running Win 8 Pro with Media Center, and others are running 8.1 Pro with Media Center (presumably they did the free update from 8 to 8.1 themselves). However, the client assures me that they never purchased an in-place upgrade from 8/8.1 to 8/8.1 Pro or purchased the media center option - that the machines came with Pro and with Media Center. When I do a recovery via the recovery partition though, it puts back Win 8/8.1 without Pro and without Media Center. I just got off the phone with Lenovo Executive Relations and they seem to think that an in-place upgrade must have been done. Any way to prove that an in-place upgrade was or was not done, so I can then go back to Lenovo and tell them their recovery partitions are incorrect?
Thanks!
Anyway to tell if a machine had an in-place upgrade done?
