With many thanks to RealBlackStuff I managed to recover the laptop. But yet there is another issue.
the mod messed with fingerprints saved in BIOS so I got them all erased and tried to re-enrolled them. And that throws the following error:
https://i.imgur.com/njzCZXt.png
I'm wondering if this issue is solvable and if not, is it possible the revert the mod using genuine Lenovo BIOS?

PS. An observation I made - after applying the mod, Computrace and Intel AT which used to be Permanently Disabled pops out to be Enabled again. But you can simply re-disable it again.
PSS. Another observation. 1vyraine pruned the Windows 8 license key from the BIOS, which for me is quite a positive side effect, but for some of you guys can be annoying.
PSS2. Reverting from 1vyrain to stock BIOS is all doable, but it's not possible to re-flash with the same BIOS version, so you need to downgrade it first with IVprep or manually, and then flash the latest genuine BIOS.
PSS3. Upgrading to Intel AC7260 WLAN card makes a driver (or maybe even hardware) conflict with original Bluetooth card in X230 as 7260 has integrated Bluetooth.
PSS4. The problem with enrolling fingerprints still persists even after reverting from 1vrain. And Security Chip status in BIOS is still MFG Mode. Ehhhh... how to fix this :(
PSS5. Tried EVERYTHING. Downgrading BIOS, upgrading BIOS, removing all passwords, restoring default settings, using windows tpm.msc command to turn it on/off/clear. No luck. No success. TPM still stuck in MFG mode, fingerprint reader still not working. Seems that even after de-bricking the machine I would have to change the motherboard :( It was not worth it...
Did you short the chips to clear the bios?
Interesting side effect with windows licence... still works with the one code printed on the machine?

Ivyrain is utterly amazing. Thank you Mr. K!

May i ask, what can the i7-3520m of a T430s be overclocked to? can it reach 4.0 ghz dual core speeds?

thank you for any information.

No, it can't.

The highest that it can reach with the 4 additional turbo bins (4x multiplier, 1x = 100 MHz), is 3.8 GHz on two cores (3400 MHz + 400 MHz). You cannot hit 4 GHz, unless you are using only one core (3600 MHz + 400 MHz).

awesome. thanks for this information. Still, 3.8 ghz dual core for an 8 year old ivy bridge using it in year 2020 is just amazing. will still feel zippy and fast. no lag with most applications!

Yup I did short a chip to clear the BIOS.
Nope, Windows 8 license is gone forever, but I was not using it anyway, I have separate license for Windows 7 which is installed on that PC.

I am late to the party, but, have successfully flashed the modified bios using 1vyrain on my T430. I did not need to downgrade first.(luckily). One question I have. Will it affect anything if I upgrade my CPU now that I have done this ? Excuse my ignorance, in hindsight I probably should have done that prior to 1vyrain, but did not think about it. Figured being that I was going back under the hood to change out my wireless card, I would swap out my 3632QM for 3720QM - 3840QM CPU. Will the modified bios just pick up the new cpu and all should be good ?
If so, now it is off to another thread to find out what Thermal Paste I should use.

Thank you

You can swap CPU without any problems, both before and after 1vyrain.

Changing the motherboards of course fixed the issue with Security Chip in MFG mode, and unusable TPM, but did not fixed the fingerprint reader issue entirely. Logging to windows with old saved fingerprints was possible again, but enrolling new fingerprints still was not, my initial though was - maybe it's only software issue? Spare SSD, quick fresh Win7 install, and nope - it still doesn't work. So there was only one last reason left. I could not believe it myself, but I swapped fingerprint reader for a spare one....and a miracle. Now it works like a charm.
Soooo, there are two possible explanations:
1)Coincidentally fingerprint sensor decided to break down the same day I flashed 1vyrain bios
2)1vrain BIOS messes deeply with various chips and μC, unintentionally doing something bad to the fingerprint reader as well. Wow! This not only is wrong, but very interesting as well! Haven't seen such wide range of influence of a single tweak.

Anyway - my advise is one: BE AWARE when you mess up with your laptop using 1vyrain. Some irreversible changes might and probably will occur. Think wise, and consider pros and cons three time before flashing once. In my case, it cost me a new motherboard and a fingerprint sensor.

I am late to this party but I am wondering if this will help in using non-approved batteries. For example, I have this one genuine 9-cell battery from a T520 for quite a while now, and the battery is now flat. My T520 has a broken battery IC so it can't charge, but my T530 can't charge either because of the stupid whitelist.

After 1vyraining the T530, it can charge the T520-battery.
After applying the EC-mod to the T530, it can charge the T520-battery.
If you make a battery extension cord, you can use many other laptops to charge it.

Okay so I have read that this mod doesn't change the status of the EC mod right?
And for the EC battery mod, I am having trouble with finding the images required as somehow that github place doesn't host the T530 one.
Also I have to install a fresh copy of linux to do that because I simply don't have a copy atm.
Or is it possible for me to just grab an iso file for that bootable USB thing from one of you guys here?

When I posted this, I wasn't quite awake yet, sorry.
I meant to say after applying the EC-mod....

1vyrain indeed does NOT change anything in the EC.

For the T530, see this: https://github.com/hamishcoleman/thinkpad-ec
Scroll down to see (has been there over 4 years...):
t530.G4HT39WW.img.d Add t530 support - this appears to share the EC firmware with the w530 Apr 27, 2016
Make sure to get/use any T530 BIOS version up to 2.76, with EC 1.13 (G4HT39WW) and NOT 1.14.

Yes I know it's not a real Thinkpad, but is this avail able for the thinkpad E530 and E530c ?

Nope, E-Series have one BIOS+EC combo, not a separate BIOS and a separate EC like on T-Series.
