T440p sometimes take several tries to power on

#1 Post by masok » Mon May 10, 2021 1:51 pm

Hi,

I'm having this issue with my T440p, and it's really annoying.
So, every now and then, I try to power on the laptop, and it will go on a loop. Basically it does one beep, lights off, starts again, one beep, lights off, and so on.
And then, could be a couple of tries later, or several minutes later, it will just power on completely and work without any issues.
But I cannot figure out what is going on, anyone seen something similar?

This is a short video of it:
At the end of the video it just starts working, but like I said, it could be super quick, or it could take several minutes.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Those are noises from a bad, dying hard disk.
Replace it with an SSD.
