<t>Hi<br/>
MY T440p's spec sheet says Base Freq is 2.6 GHz and Max Turbo is 3.3 GHz.<br/>
<br/>
During Windows-10 Cinebench test, freq is 2.88 GHz. And I notice the occasionally spike to 3.3 GHz when I use Windows-Youtube.
But when I do stress test on Linux, the freq is constantly 3.2 GHz. And when I am compiling code on Linux, the freq also stays at 3.2 GHz.
I wonder if prolong running at 3.2 HHz speed would prematurely wear out the CPU? Like if you are compiling Gentoo.

Re: Base Freq vs Turbo Max
damage is risked if CPU is not cooling effectively. sustained under 90C should be safe.
