Removing T480 admin BIOS password

#1 Post by bravo3 » Fri Jan 23, 2026 5:51 am

Hi guys. Its been a long time since my last one and Happy New Year to everyone. I just bought last year a T480 and unbeknowst to me it has a BIOS admin lock. No wonder it sold so cheaply for an i7. I know I can do the Ch some
thing EEPROM programing magic in python to remove the password but I do not have the mental inclination to learn python now. Is there an easier way to do this short of buying a new mobo?
2 X100e's(bricked until I could figure out how to re-solder the CPU back on to board), T60p, T60 (shadow display on LCD), T420 with quad i7 work horse, T440p(quad i7) and a recent addition a souped up T480 i7 - RIP A21e & 600X
