Wow, I was not expecting that much of a difference lol, I thought people were exaggerating it a bit.
I finally bought a dual pipe heatsink and it is amazing.
Went from single pipe sunon to dual pipe toshiba.
Both had brand new mx4, and the difference under load is anywhere from 10-20 degrees celcius!
I can run boost clock for way longer, and it greatly reduces any frame drops!
under max load while running games with boost clock on i go to about 75 degrees celcius, instead of about 95! on i7 8650u (-70mv undervolt to cache and cpu or something i think)
I have done many other upgrades, but this one is definitely most impactful. for 30 bucks on ebay, It was the best mod i have done so far!
I wasn't sure about doing it as i have already spent so much other money and i heard it was possible to short it, but it was so worth it.
Make sure to put kapton tape over the gpu spot. I also put non conductive thermal paste over, just to be safe.
sorry if my formatting is weird, this is my first post
if you have any questions about the mod let me know.

What heat sink part number did you use? Not everyone is familiar.

01YR201 or 01YR202. doesn't matter which. I don't care who says one is better than the other. It is like a 1 degree celcius difference max, and that might have just been a bit of random luck.

01YR200 - Delta - noisy
01YR201 - Toshiba - don't know
01YR202 - Sunon - quiet, has the largest air-inlet openings (my T480 got it), e.g. https://www.ebay.com/itm/317309791071
