Re: How many LCD monitor does T430s support without dock?
I believe the Intel HD 4000 supports three LCDs, so you could do two external, via VGA and Displayport, and the internal.

Re: How many LCD monitor does T430s support without dock?
May I ask how to plug two monitors. Right now I use the Thunderbolt. But I don't see a HDMI port available. Is it possible without using docking station? Thanks!
Re: How many LCD monitor does T430s support without dock?
The T430s gives you a VGA and Displayport connectors. Displayport can be converted to HDMI with a cable. Lenovo also sells a USB 3.0 connector as well.

Hi, ZaZ:ZaZ wrote:The T430s gives you a VGA and Displayport connectors. Displayport can be converted to HDMI with a cable. Lenovo also sells a USB 3.0 connector as well.
Will the USB 3.0 external monitor be able to send out high-resolution picture to the external monitor (in the sense that it support the highest resolution of the external LCD/LED)?
I do have a thunderbolt connector and a VGA connector. Now I'm using the Thunderbolt to connect to my HDMI monitor (via a converter). But the VGA one can only output low resolution or fuzzy resolution to the external monitors (resolution is not the highest supported by the external monitor).
Re: How many LCD monitor does T430s support without dock?
What is the native resolution of your external monitor? Lenovo says the T430 supports up to 2048x1536@75Hz on the VGA port. And up to 2560x1600@60Hz on the DisplayPort via optional Mini DP cable and 1920x1200@60Hz with single-link DVI-I via optional Mini DP cable.
Collection = T430 - T500 - R400 - X300 - T61 (14" WXGA+) - R61 (15" SXGA+) - T60 - X40 - T43p - T43 - T42p - A30P
Re: How many LCD monitor does T430s support without dock?
According to the specs, the USB 3.0 to DVI connector does a maximum resolution of 2048x1152.

Re: How many LCD monitor does T430s support without dock?
My external monitor's resolution is 1920*1080. Although Win 7 is able to set the resolution to be this correct resolution if I use the VGA port, I noticed that the fonts and edge is kind of furry. That is, the edge and font is not as sharp as it could be under HDMI mode. May I ask whether this is normal? Thanks.
Re: How many LCD monitor does T430s support without dock?
The T430s can support only 2 LCD without Dock.
If you need to support more LCD, then you could consider USB 3.0 dock which would give you extra 2 LCD at up to WUXGA. You can also consider eGPU or use a displayport splitter to support 2 LCD (up to WUXGA of same refresh rate).
Displayport splitter is the cheaper option if you have two of the same LCD that supports displayport connection, also unlike the USB 3.0 dock it doesn't sap CPU processing power.

Re: How many LCD monitor does T430s support without dock?
I have tried Inbuilt Display + Mini DP + VGA without dock not working only works 2 displays at a time.
Any idea about that.

Re: How many LCD monitor does T430s support without dock?
Hi,
I'm facing to the same issue, even with a dock. After months of various searchs, it looks like the only t430s that can support 3 monitors is the optimus version.
Only two LCD at a time too. Displayport / HDMI / VGA
With or without dock
Intel HD4000 can support more than 2 screen so I guess it's a lock from Lenovo on the t430s motherboard. Who knows?

Re: How many LCD monitor does T430s support without dock?
I haven't had a chance to test it, but looks like I remembered incorrectly and internal+DP+VGA does not work.
https://support.lenovo.com/il/en/solutions/ht037605
says "T430s and T430si don't support the “Triple display configuration”. They need two Display Port to configure a triple display setting, therefore a docking station is required."
The requirement that two DisplayPort ports must be used is known, and it's an Intel HD4000 limit. I just thought that it does not affect VGA, but only digital ports. Guess I was wrong.
