T430 Sleep Mode - Takes a LONG time to wake up / resume

A couple months ago I got a new T430 from my employer as an upgrade to my old Dell work laptop. So far it's been pretty solid except for one major nagging issue: the thing takes absolutely forever to come out of sleep mode and get back to a usable state. I'm talking 20-30 minutes before I can start using it for actual productive work. It is much faster to just shut the thing down and cold boot it every day, rather than to close the lid at night and try to wake it up the next morning. (My old Dell, also running Windows 7 Pro, did not have this issue)

Short of dumping my morning coffee on it to help wake up, is there any way I can turn off whatever deep sleep mode it is entering when I shut the screen? I've noticed that if I shut the lid for a short amount of time it will wake back up within a few seconds when I open it back up. If it remains shut for any extended period of time it goes into a coma. This makes me think there are some deep sleep states coming in to play after a set amount of inactivity.

I've checked the power settings for what closing the lid will do, and it is set to "Sleep", not hibernate. I honestly don't know what else to try. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Relevant specs:
* Core i5 3320M
* 8GB DDR3
* 320GB 7200 RPM HDD (<- may be the culprit, as the HDD light never turns off during the wake up process)
* Windows 7 Pro Enterprise - 64 bit.

Update: I started digging through the Power Manager settings in more depth and found a few features that I changed under the battery profile which I am hopeful will solve this grievance:

* Power Plan Tab > System settings > CPU Deeper Sleep: DISABLED
* Power Plan Tab > Idle timers > Enter system hibernation: NEVER
* Power Plan Tab > Advanced settings > Allow hybrid sleep: OFF
* Power Plan Tab > Events > Lid closed: SLEEP
* Global Power Settings Tab > Enable 30 Day Standby: UNCHECKED

I'll let you all know if this helped the next time I put the beast to sleep and try to reawaken it.

Just wanted to post really quick to confirm that the settings above cured the deep sleep/excessive wake up time problem.

Hi there...I was having the same problem with my new T430 and it was driving me nuts. I found your post and it seemed to solve my problem too. Thank you muchly for your help! Thought I'd bother registering and letting others know it worked in case they were having the same problem too.
