Hi,

I installed linux on my T430 and then a few days later, tried re installing windows. Before installing Linux, I created system repair disk on a DVD, created a system image on USB Drive and tested by booting off the repair disk DVD and it worked fine. After installing Linux and trying out a few things, I wanted to install Windows again (need to test some windows specific Perl Scripting stuff). Problem was, inspite of DVD Drive being above HD in the BIOS Boot, Ubuntu Linux kept booting. So I deleted Ubuntu by doing an rm -Rf *.* and then tried booting off the repair disc, but still no go...So I tried another laptop and that laptop booted off the repair disc. Now, the DVD Drive doesn't even open up.

So I installed Windows 7 Home Premium off a USB Drive and tried restoring the system image (Dumb and Desperate move), but even that wouldnt work.

Any help would really be great.

Hi,

I copied the Windows Repair CD Disk files to USB, booted off of it and then restored from system image so I am back in business.

But, the DVD Drive problem still remains. It still doesnt eject.

I will be thankful if someone could suggest how to go about this issue.

Tried installing Power Manager, but that didnt help. DVD Drive reinstall also didn't help.
