Recovery disks for T430

#1 Post by trhbme1 » Thu Mar 28, 2013 1:03 pm

Just bought the T430. It came with Windows 7 on legacy BIOS. While attempting to convert the Windows 7 to UEFI, I erased the hard drive. Now, I know that I can purchase the recovery disk from Lenovo but that will cost some money. Can anyone help me saving some money by point to where I can download a recovery image for the T430? Image for any T430 will do since I will manually download/update model specific drivers.

Thanks a million!!!

You should have created the factory recovery discs right after you see Windows desktop for the first time. Also, such an image is not available for download.

In any event, call Lenovo Support and explain your situation. Since you made a "honest mistake," they will likely send you a set of discs for free, usually next-day delivery.

As you seem to be technically knowledgeable, another option is to install Windows 7 using a legally downloadable ISO image (burned to DVD), validate it using your T430 Windows 7 COA, and then resolve/update the device drivers using T430-specific drivers downloaded from Lenovo Support site.
