I recently upgraded from a 15" T60 to a T530. Other than not really adjusting very well to the new keyboard layout, I'm also surprised by how blue the display looks. It continues to be quite irritating, and I've had this for about 6 months now.
The display option was the 15.6" HD+ LED backlit.
It's at the point where I'm considering going to a new notebook. Don't want to move away from Thinkpad T-series, but it's hard to know how bad the various screen options will be until you actually receive it.
Does anyone know of ways to adjust this?
Thanks.

Hello and welcome to the forum.
You could ask Lenovo if they're willing to fix this on warranty. You could also calibrate your display. I've seen the X-Rite ColorMunki Display being offered for USD 169,-

Thanks. I tried Windows 8's built-in calibration and it has made it more tolerable after turning the blues way down.TTY wrote:Hello and welcome to the forum.

The bad quality of the Thinkpad displays in general, plus the new keyboard layout, are really making me reconsider the T-series... the main thing keeping me with it is that I know that 90% of other notebook keyboards are even worse, and the keyboard is the most important thing to me.

Re: T530 screen very blue
If your needs are not excessively demanding you could always get a T520 instead. Non-chiclet keyboard and opt for the any screen that is not 1366X768. I hear the contrast ratios are terrible on the lower resolution screens so I would avoid those unless one has trouble seeing detail. FWIW I get by on the X/T-x00 series era of ThinkPads for now. The demands I have for my laptop lean toward some graphics capabilities (T500 docked w/switchable graphics takes care of this) and note taking for classes (X200T fulfills this). As for the bluish tint IIRC that is an effect caused by the LED technology. In my experience the CCFL have a warmer color versus the LED lit panels.
