NVIDIA Optimus Issue on T430

#1 Post by Danny » Mon Sep 02, 2013 12:40 pm

Hello all,

I am running Windows 8 Pro on my T430, and have Visual Studio 2012 Ultimate installed. When I connect my external LCD (Dell 3008wfp) the NVIDIA tray icon shows the NVIDIA GPU is powering the application, "Windows Software Development Kit". When I disconnect from the dock or disconnect the display, the tray icon pops up a bubble notifying me that the program is still using the GPU. However, when I look in task manager, I cannot find any evidence of the program anywhere, so I could manually end it.

What do you think is causing the problem?
ThinkPads:
T430 i5 3210M 16 GB DDR3 1600 128 Samsung SSD 830 + 500 GB WD hard disk Windows 8 Pro + Windows 7 HomeP. 9 cell+9 cell :D
An assortment of others in the attic awaiting power adapters, batteries, etc: A21, A22, 600(x2), 380, something else...?
