Installing Windows 7 on a new T530 with Windows 8

Hi,

My new T530 should be arriving tomorrow. The problem is, I ordered it with Windows 8 installed, but would actually prefer Windows 7. I have a Windows 7 Pro CD and license key. Is it a straight forward job to wipe Windows 8 and install a clean copy of Win 7? Once Win7 is installed, should I just download and install the drivers from here: http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/researc ... D=HT073832? Are there any problems I may run into?

Thanks
Phil

If you have a disc and valid key, it shouldn't be a problem. Worst case is you'll have to call Microsoft and explain the situation to get them to activate it. I would suggest making the recovery discs beforehand so if at some point down the road you want to go back to Windows 8, you'll have that option. Or if you want to sell the machine and keep your copy of Windows 7, you can put Windows 8 back on.

That's very useful advice. Thank you.
