Samsung 840Pro 2.5" SSD to install in T430 (what needed?)

I am about to order this SSD to replace main HD. Question?
1.- SSD should fit physically in the HD bay without any extra parts, right?
Now this is the real question:
2. to transfer existing HD ( O/S and data) I need a ultra bay caddy to put new SSD in, some SSD enclosure to fit SSD in caddy, and of course software to do the transfer. might use old faithful Ghost 2007.
P.S. have heard Samsung included is buggy.
pleas advise and or confirm
thank you

No.
Your new drive/SSD goes in the main bay, the hard drive that is being cloned to an external USB enclosure.
I'd stay away from the Ghost and use Clonezilla or Acronis.
Having said that, I always advise against cloning the OS from a spinning drive to SSD, but it's your ThinkPad.

Could you elaborate on the reason?

Unless you have some rare/obsolete software installed that you have no means of recovering/re-installing I'd suggest a clean install.
By the time you tweak/optimize the cloned install so it works properly on SSD you'll save no time at all.
And if you think that there's no difference between an install that was optimized for HDD and the one that is optimized for SSD, think again.

I agree. I much prefer a clean install. I don't even like to recover from a recovery partition/disk as there's always a bunch of bloatware that I don't want.

Thanks for advice, my knowledge of logical organization of SSD is actually none, though I well know the way HD stores reads writes and organize data. I presume since SSD access memory locations is more like accessing RAM then magnetic platters then it would merit consideration.
thank again for input and advice

Is there a website that goes through a step by step on clean install. I am getting a T440s with ssd and I want to put a clean Windows 7 on it.
Links? or forum post?
