Why no Intel Iris Graphics on T440s?

Is there a reason why the T440s features the Intel HD Graphics 4400, while the rather similar (size-, specs- and price-wise) 13" MacBook Pro has the much better Intel Iris 5100?

The graphics are tied to the CPU model. If the Mac has 5100 graphics that means they are using the higher-powered CPUs (28W TDP) while the T440s uses lower-powered ones (15W TDP). Similarly, the T440p has 4600 graphics because it uses the 37W dual-core ("M") and 47W quad-core ("MQ") CPUs. Presumably Lenovo chose low-power CPUs for cooling and/or battery-life reasons.

Thanks, that makes sense! So I guess this is a conscious choice by Lenovo, which means the T440s will always be less powerful (graphics-wise) than the new 13" MacBook Pro. Could it also have to do with the MBP's Retina display, which has a lot more pixels than the T440s (2560×1600 vs. 1920x1080)?
