Hi,

I've saw that it's possible having a m-sata SSD with Configured To Order (CTO) T430. I will sell my T420, and my X200s is going to be sell (not sure for now), and i'm looking for another thinkpad for replacement.

I want to put the 256GB SSD i've put on the T420. The T420 requires a whitelist-less bios to boot up without error message.

Is a whitelist-less bios required for installing a non-lenovo SSD? Is whitelist-less bios exist for T430?

Welcome to the forum.
If that's a regular 2.5" SSD, you can transfer it without any problems.
Some mSATA SSDs are on the whitelist as well.
If your T420 has a non-Lenovo wifi card or mSATA SSD, then you need a WL-removed BIOS.
Find out about WL-modded T430 BIOS here: http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?f=68&t=113414
However, I would advise you to keep the T420.
The T430 has a much-changed keyboard/touchpad and isn't all that different from a T420 anyway.

Hi,

Thank you. I know, but I'm looking for a T430 with warranty, backlit keyboard and no dicrete graphic card. Optimus is painfull under GNU/Linux for now, and I've no need of a discrete graphic card.

My SSD is a Crucial m4 256GB. Is it in the white-list?

However, i will see a T430 next Tuesday, in replacement of my T420/X200s. The price is very interesting, but I must see the notebook. If I buy it and we can't "match", I can re-sell it.

It's look like it's very difficult to mod the T430 (and T530, and others -30 ended models) because of the UEFI-and-secure-boot. Pain in our [censored] :| . One exception, the X230 is supported by the CoreBoot project (http://www.coreboot.org/Board:lenovo/x230).
