I tried charging the thinkpad battery from the usb port of that same laptop because it was completely drained (Jumpstarting) and i guess current back-flowed back into the laptop and it went off. When the usb cable attached to the battery was inserted into the laptop and it went off, the mute sound and microphone buttons LED were lighting orange. Since then it has refused to power-up. I tried removing static by pressing the power button continuously with the battery and ac adapter out but no hope. I need help Please.
Thanks in advance.

hello and welcome to the forum..

so, you tried to charge your thinkpad battery FROM some sort of USB connection ON the same thinkpad with the dead battery..

if that is correct, please let me know just how you think that a dead battery will recharge itself FROM itself..?

sounds a lot like PERPETUAL MOTION or the pure definition of SOCIALISM..
you ran out of power so you can not use the dead battery to charge the dead battery..

have you tried connecting the thinkpad to the AC adapter to recharge the battery in the normally approved manner..?
