t440s external monitor won't wake

I have an issue where when my t440s is connected to my external monitors, they will not wake after the monitors go into power save mode. Sometimes they do and sometimes they do not. Those same monitors work fine with any other laptop or ms surface. Anyone else have this issue with the t440s?
