T430 auto switching to caps issue

I am using a T430. Very frequently as I am typing, my keyboard switches to caps without me touching the caps lock button and I end up having to retype often long passages of text if I fail to spot it early. It is driving me nuts. Anyone else experiencing this or got any solutions? At first I thought I must be accidentally touching the caps lock button but this is definitely not the case having monitored the issue.

Welcome to thinkpads.com!

When this happens, is the Caps Lock indicator on the screen displayed (and you're sure you're not pressing the key)? If so, I supposed it's possible that the key is very sensitive. About the only thing I can think of is to replace the keyboard. If the system is still under warranty, you should be able to have it done at no charge. Otherwise, you can probably find one for ~$20.

Also, what OS are we talking about. If you don't care about having the Caps Lock function at all, I believe it's possible to disable it using software and/or a registry hack.

edit: Corrected Caps Lock indicator location and moved thread from T400-T420 conference.

I am on Win 8.1 and all sorts of strange things have happened since I bought it, wish I had not bothered!

There is no caps light I can see or any on screen indicator.
