Hi, I have the same kind of problem but I made a HDD swap before the probleme occur, should i make another thread or ?

Yesterday I decided to put my Crucial M4 128g to remplace the standard HDD. After installing the SSD in the laptop I plugged the AC/Battery but nothing happen, everything stay black, no light, no sounds nothing. My corp gave me a second laptop today, everything was fine until I tried so install my SSD again. The second T430 seems to be dead like the first one so my question is wtf ?!

I tried the 10 power push or 30/60s but nothing, Is there something that can "lock" the motherboard or did my SSD kill 2 laptops ? I used it for 2 years without any pb and in 15 years its the first time something like that happen ....

edit : nothing too when i try to boot without RAM

Welcome to thinkpads.com!

Yes, it is better if we split this off into its own thread. Unfortunately, I don't have any advice about your problem other than to ask if you have ever used the Crucial SSD in another system successfully. From the sounds of it, there might be something wrong with the drive which causes the main fuse to blow. That would account for the lack of power in the laptops.

Thanks you !

I used the M4 for more than 2 years everyday on my desktop until last week so yeah and I can tell you I never add a problem with the SSD.
As for the lack of power, hum yeah why not but it's a SSD, it drain less power a crappy HDD :x

Another thing, when I put back the AC/battery, the battery icon blink but as soon as I press the power button the icon stop blinking and everthing stay black :(
