HI guys I bought a mc7700 wwan card for my t430 since I seen on the lenovo site that there was a driver for it.
http://support.lenovo.com/ca/en/downloads/ds029028 .

The card I bought is this one :
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/191279099383?ssP ... 1439.l2649

So I run the installation and it installs but when I go to device manager it shows that the drivers are not installed for "other devices" and shows 4 MC7700 instances.

I was told that about a whitelist but that it would not let my laptop boot if the card was not compatible.

Is there anyother drivers I can try.

As far as I know you cannot use a generic WWAN card in your laptop (not without a modified BIOS), only those provided by Lenovo will work (like this one - FRU 04W3786).

I was thinking I would get this if it were an authorized part.
"The ThinkPad BIOS only allows to boot with an "authorized" adapter installed. If an unsupported card is detected, the BIOS prints a message on the screen and stops the system:
1802: Unauthorized network card is plugged in - Power off and remove the miniPCI network card."

I downloaded almost every driver for this card and finally the Panasonic ATT driver installed everything but cannot get it to connect to network. This could be that I am trying a canadian company similar to T-mobile , which is called Wind Mobile, their service is AWS. Will try with a company with the same bands as ATT.

Also heard that the gobi 300 people use a software called Motion CM to connect in different countries, but it seems to only work on 3000.On my t430 it stops working when I try to add a profile. I am wondering if Motion CM has something similar for the 4000.
I am at work so I cannot get print screens of the device manager.

Sorry I can't be of more help, I'm not sure why you didn't receive an error message at boot (maybe something related to the BIOS version?), I've never tried a non Lenovo WWAN card. Speaking of the BIOS, just a thought, I'd check to see if the WWAN is enabled or not (should be in the Network section of the BIOS).

Ok so a final update, the card worked fine on other networks such as,virgin, bell, rogers. But I could not get it to work on my network so I tried to switch it from QIM mode to DIP mode and once I did this I noticed that an extra port was added named AT command port. then it said it needed it to restart and bam got the message," not authorized part".

So if you get your authorized part working, do not switch it to DIP mode.
