RAM for a T430?

#1 Post by Olwe » Thu Mar 05, 2015 5:19 pm

I was using 2 x "4GB 2Rx8 PC3-8500S 4GB DDR3 1066Mx SO-DIMM ELPIDA" in my T410. Now I just got a new (used) T430 . . . and it doesn't seem to like this memory. Push the on button and -- nothing. Tried multiple times to reseat, still nothing. Why would my T430 not like this memory? It works with the 4GB it came with. The SSD drive swap went without a hitch.

The T430 is designed to use DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) RAM. Maybe the slower RAM is just not compatible.
Collection = T500 - R400 - X300 - X200 - T61 (14" WXGA+) - T61 (14.1" SXGA+) - T60 (15" SXGA+) - X40 - T43p - T43 - T42p - A30P - 600E
