Looking for video for opening up a T450s

I have a T450s on order and plan to swap drives as soon as it arrives and probably add memory some time soon. The most recent ThinkPad I've worked on is an X230. I've heard, anecdotally, that more recent models require a little bit of finesse to open up and have small tabs that are easy to break.

If there's a video out there that shows a T450s being opened up, please post a pointer to it. Thanks.

Two pointers:

- not a video, but the Hardware Maintenance Manual can be useful: http://download.lenovo.com/pccbbs/mobil ... g54937.pdf
- currently not one for a T450s, but if they release a video, it should be here: https://www.lenovoservicetraining.com/ (use Search or Categories)

Both resources can also be found here: http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/product ... kpad-t450s

T450s shares the same body-chassis with the T440s. You can find service videos on T440s support pages. You need a plastic prying tool in order to release the latches of the base cover.

Thanks for the pointers. If the T450s case is identical to the T440s case, then there are also lots of youtube videos that apply.

One follow-on question - there is a foil cover on the drive, which appears to be attached with some kind of adhesive. Swapping this looks like a pain, especially if you end up doing it multiple times. Can these be found for sale online? I did some web searching but didn't find any.

The foil cover is not necessary to apply on your new HDD/SSD. I installed a 9.5 mm SSD into my T440s without the foil, no problems for about 3 months of usage. But if you insist on using the foil, it is very easy to remove from the old drive because its adhesive is not too strong.
