TrackPoint middle button scroll is awful on new T450s

Hi everyone,

Wow the fonts on this website just got massive when I created a new message. Anyway, my previous ThinkPads in order were R31, T61, then X230. I always use the TrackPoint only since the R31 only had that, and loved using my thumb to scroll with the middle button. The X230 had Windows 8.1 on it and I don't remember ever having issues with it. I switched to Mac for a few years and just bought the T450s.

Problem is the scrolling is just awful and all over. For example, I'll be in Acrobat Pro, and I scroll down and it goes down maybe half a page then just full on stops. Nothing I do will get it to scroll again. This also happens in IE and Chrome. Was scrolling down the list of topics here, working fine, gets about half way and then just stops, forcing me to use the scroll bar on the side.

I have the TouchPad disabled in BIOS as I don't use it at all but it never used to be this bad before. I remember on the X230 some apps don't scroll at all properly, as in it never works. What's frustrating with this is that it will work sometimes and not others.

I installed Smooth Scroll extension in Chrome, didn't really seem to do a lot. Even right now, I'm writing this message and I can't scroll in it, or on the page. The mouse icon changes to the scroll icon but it just freezes in place. There's no settings I can see for it either, they are all related to the TouchPad.

Any ideas?

Did you find a solution or a fix for this?
Does it happen only with scrolling or does it just stop accepting input from the trackpoint? I rely on trackpoint and disable my trackpad too so this is very important, I scroll a lot.

Also did you try external trackpoint keyboard? I use a thinkpad trackpoint USB keyboard.
