What are the differences between the two, T430 and T430s ? what does the heavier thicker T430 offer that is not available on the T430s ?
Why is the later significantly lighter ? (2.17kg for T430 with 6cell battery, and 1.79kg for T430s)
Is it possible to remove and replace the gritty touchpad texture from the T430s like it is possible for the T430/T530 ?
(only concerned here with the iGPU model without nvidia optimus)

T430s uses different materials (more Carbon Fiber) and has a different construction compared with the T430. Thats where the weigh difference mainly comes from. Also, take for example the different DVD drive (12.7 mm vs. 9.5 mm) and the much smaller and thus lighter battery.
Yes, the TouchPad is also a sticker on the T430s.

Do bear in mind that the "S" version also sports a soldered CPU, and not a socketed one which may or may not be a big deal depending on your needs/circumstances.

Thanks for the replies
So, it seems that T430 have a little bit more potential by being upgradable to a quad core processor, unlike the T430s, but the T430s is lighter and easier to move with ..

After I've got my T430 I couldn't let my T420s go, even I don't really need two laptops. The T420s feels just ...right, size and weight and I'm still using it for everyday work, and the T430 especially for gaming. If you found a T430s with NVidia, I would say to go for it instead of the regular and more upgradable T430.
