Hi,
I want to upgrade my t530 ramby installing another 4gb unit beside the stock ramaxel one. However i have realized an almost two fold difference between prices of different brands. I have two option:
buy one unit sold by the shop where i bought the laptop for 55USD ( i quess ramaxel, but i am not sure) or
buy a KINGSTON-LENOVO 4GB/1333MHZ DDR-3 (KTL-TP3BS/4G) for 40 USD or
buy a KINGSTON LENOVO 4GB/1600MHZ DDR-3 (KTL-TP3CS/4G) for 32 USD

It is not the price but difference. Is there such a difference in performance?

So which shall i buy to upgrade? The one installed is ramaxel 4gb 1rx8 pc3 12800s 11 11 B4 HF

thanks
Andrew

Welcome to the Forum.
Lenovo recommends 1600MHz modules.
It is also highly recommendable to get 2xR8 modules.
On eBay you can get those for a lot less than your Kingston price: $16.99

I suggest you get 2 of those and sell your Ramaxel module.

thanks for the quick replay.
So do i understand correctly that brand does not play a role in performance?
If yes can i "mix" kingstone with ramax? The kingstone is just around the corner in th s

Usually you can mix, but 1xR8 (1 row, 8 chips) and 2xR8 (2 rows of 8 chips) do not always play nice together.
Brand names are preferable (Hynix, Elpida, Crucial/Micron, Samsung, Axiom in no particular order).
Kingston uses rebranded other label chips.
I don't have experience with Ramaxel.
Your money, your laptop.
