I'm looking to purchase a second hand T440s and would like it know if it is possible to replace the standard keyboard with a backlit one.

It seems this is possible for the T430 and T450, but the eBay listings state you need a laptop with an additional backlight connected on the motherboard, is this true?

There are keyboards with and without backlight available for the T440s.
Just swap them out, they are interchangeable without needing anything extra.

Thanks, ordered it and should get around to replacing the keyboard in the new year.
