Can any T450 owner read out their EDID for me?

#1 Post by damnation333 » Tue Mar 08, 2016 4:44 am

Hey everybody,

I had a cracked HD+ screen and bought a new one, a FHD IPS panel. Works all fine, but of course now I realise that the brightness adjustment doesn't work...
I had a LP140WD2-TPD1 panel in there and now got a LP140WF1-SPU1 in it. The way to get brightness adjustment in windows working again is by using the EDID from the old panel. Unfortunately I cannot switch it back in as it's broken.
Would anybody on here with a T450 and the HD+ screen be so kind and could dump the EDID in Linux for me using this guide?

Appreciate your help!

Download this datasheet, in there you'll find the EDID coding: http://www.datasheet4u.com/download_new.php?id=842274

Ah man!! How amazing! thanks. As far as I have read, I could download the EDID from my new panel and just change the vendor and type of display in the EDID and load that back into the chip. I'll give this a go tonight and see how I get on.

Thanks!

Hey,

tried to figure this out.
When using this command "sudo /usr/sbin/sensors-detect" to find my I2C/SMBus adapters I get the following: "Sorry, no supported PCI bus adapters found."

any clue why that is?

thanks!

edit:
I used Ubuntu 14.04 which has Kernel 3.13. Apparently Intel 5500 is supported since Kernel ver. 3.19, so I need to user a newer version of Ubuntu. (https://web.archive.org/web/20150813204 ... ki/Devices). Will try that tonight.

Hi there, I just wanted to inquire with you regarding the EDID modification. Where you able to get this to work? I'm contemplating an upgrade on my T450, however, had read no evidence of anyone successfully doing the upgrade.

Thanks
